Photo Shoot!

Last weekend, my mother-in-law and I took the kids to City Park to meet our photographer, Lisa Kitto, for a photo shoot.  The session was a Christmas gift from Colleen.  I don't like a lot of "stuff," so a photo shoot was the perfect choice of gifts.

A sneak peek of our photo session is available on Lisa's website: http://lisakittophotography.com/blog/oliver-johanna-denver-childrens-photographer/ .

I think my favorite photo is the one of Jo eating the dandelion.

Homemade Plum Hat

Our friend Dania (here is a link to her blog) is very gifted with knitting needles. When Oliver was born, she knitted him some boots that were the cutest things we'd ever seen. My mother-in-law still insists Dania should go into business and sell them.

Dania's brother, Ray (one of Andrew's best friends), came over to our house today with gifts for Joanna. Included were some items from Dania. She'd made a cute, pink sweater and a plum hat. I can't get over the hat. It's so stinking cute. Words can't do it justice, so I put it on Jo and took half a dozen photos.

18 Month Old Photo Shoot (With Dad)

OK, this last photo isn't from the impromptu photo shoot. It's from Oliver's lunch date with Daddy. They stopped at Noodles & Company on their way to visit Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Paul. It meant a lot to me that Oliver ate a lot with Andrew because he hasn't been eating quite as much this month. Some days, getting him to eat anything is a struggle.

Pointer

Do reaching and pointing count as two different milestones for babies? I can't recall a time when Oliver didn't reach for what he wanted (us to pick him up and Cheerios being the main examples), but starting yesterday, he has officially started pointing with his index finger. He's pointing to all sorts of things! He's pointed to his bathtub toys that were in the bath toy basket, he's pointed to his water cup, he's pointed to Owen, and he's pointed to me. It's so exciting! I feel like he's learning a lot by pointing. I know exactly what he's looking at, so I can name it and give it to him (unless it's Owen, of course! haha).

Pictured: Oliver went to a photo shoot with Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Paul yesterday. I included these shots because you can see him pointing to the wagon handle in the bottom left photo. To see more photos from his shoot (or, if you like the photos and want to schedule your own photo shoot), you can go to the photographer's website: http://lisakitto.wordpress.com/2010/10/25/about-to-turn-one-denver-child-photographer/
