...Oliver is rolling over! I came into his bedroom at 5am this morning to nurse him, and I discovered him on his tummy. He'd flopped over sometime between 2am and 5am! As you might recall, on the Friday before last, Ollie rolled over from tummy to back twice (he hasn't done that since). He's going to be a rolling fool before I know it!
In other news, his teeth STILL haven't popped through. He goes through periods where the tooth buds don't bother him at all and other times where he gnaws on everything. Yesterday, I thought I could finally feel the tooth on his bottom left. I'm thinking it shouldn't be long now, but I've thought that many times before. I can't wait to see those teeth!

Oliver Exercises at 5am
Oliver started sleeping unswaddled on Friday. By the end of the weekend, every time I'd go to his crib, he'd be sleeping in a different position. His head would be where his feet were, or he'd be 90 degrees from where I'd left him with his legs hanging through the crib bars. It's weird just seeing the end product of a lot of work from my little man.
Today, I caught him in action.
It was 5:30am. I woke up to grunting sounds coming from Oliver's room. I laid there a while, waiting for the grunts to start transitioning into cries. After about fifteen minutes, he still sounded OK. I got up to peek at him.
Oliver was practicing trying to roll over! I watched as he rolled his legs up to his chest and flung himself to the side. He didn't get over the shoulder hump, but he'd fall back down, he'd move a bit. He did this again and again, with me cheering him on from the side of the crib.
It won't be long until I come in and find him on his tummy!

Updated Sleeping Habits
Oliver put himself to sleep again today! He amazes me daily. I was holding him, and he was getting a little drowsy. I was hoping he'd fall asleep because I really had to use the bathroom. After a few minutes, I decided I couldn't wait any more. I plopped him in his infant seat, handed him his frog in hopes it would keep him from crying, and ran to the bathroom. When I was done, Ollie was sound asleep in his chair.
Contrary to what a lot of experts say, napping well has definitely effected his night time sleeping. He's getting much-needed sleep this way, so I'm not complaining (too much). He insists on getting up at 5am these days. Before, when he wasn't napping well, he almost always slept until at least 6:30am (and occassionally until 7:30am).
In other news, he's getting close to rolling over from back to front! He's pulling his knees up to his chest and rolling like a ball. He just barely doesn't have enough thrust to make it over his shoulder. Soon, though! He's going to hate it when he does...
